She is a self-taught dancer, who after studying modern literature, she founded her own company in 1989. Her work explores the complexity of her dual cultural background and how movement confronts \u201cthe deafening din of our lives\u201d with patience, discipline, and simplicity. In 2015, she was named Chevalier de l&#8217;Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, and Officier in 2024. Her piece <em>Le Cri<\/em> received the Prix de la R\u00e9v\u00e9lation in 2008, and in 2017 the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 des Auteurs et Compositeurs Dramatiques awarded her the Choreographer\u2019s Prize.
