Hollow Embraces is a dance performance that drifts between different emotional states, echoing the contradictions of human nature in its search for salvation and survival. At its core, the work reflects the Palestinian condition—a reality marked by both fracture and resilience in the face of ongoing colonial erasure. It embodies disorientation, grief, and betrayal, tracing the weight of sorrow and absence on the human spirit. Yet, it also reveals how systematic oppression shapes a resistant consciousness that refuses to surrender. Rather than offering answers, the performance lingers on questions: How do we endure? And where do we go from here?
Hollow Embraces unfolds against the backdrop of the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the intensification of systematic violence across Palestine—standing as a testimony Palestinian suffering and steadfastness.
