Ali Chahrour
Through his work, Beirut-born choreographer and dancer Ali Chahrour seeks to invent a gesture freed from Western codes and models — a reflection of his own culture and socio-political context. Chahrour’s repertoire encompasses two trilogies: Death and Love, combining lyrical poetry and tangled bodies. Several of his performances have been presented at the festival d’Avignon in France, and his 2022 The Love Behind My Eyes earned the ZKB Patronage prize at the 2022 Zurich Theater Spektakel. He is currently preparing to work on a new trilogy around the theme of Fear.
