Mazg for Culture and Arts was founded by four female cultural and civic rights activists in 2013, out of their belief in the importance of art in developing societies. Their focus is on following an outreach approach to cover not only Cairo, but the various governorates of Egypt, and parts of the Arab region. Mazg’s work focused on the comics industry in the Arab region, and for 13 years carried out many activities to reach our goal regarding this industry. These activities included workshops for both young talented and professional comics artists in Egypt and Tunisia and most recently, the establishment of Mazg Comics School, an online platform for teaching comics through our professional trainers, which many artists from different Arab countries have been able to participate in. We also have published many comic books, organised comic exhibitions, and organised many public comic activities.
