As part of its efforts to keep pace with the dynamism and growth of the Arab cultural landscape, specifically the performing arts, AFAC has commissioned an in-depth research paper led by writer, artist, and academic Driss Ksikes on the performing arts in the Arab region and its diaspora over the past decade. This study constitutes a key component of AFAC’s knowledge production initiatives and its ongoing commitment to developing its programs and operations, which are approaching the culmination of twenty years of continuous work in support of the Arab cultural scene.
Each session will be two-fold: the first part will consist of a presentation and discussion of the main outcomes of the policy paper authored by Driss Ksikes, which will sum up the main findings and recommendations of the multi-sited and multi-issue survey he led with other scholars.
The second part will focus on discussing the outcomes and findings with the audience and examining the major recommendations co-designed with AFAC.
