Borbála Mákó

Borbála Mákó is a media artist based in Budapest and currently in her third year as a DLA candidate at the Doctoral School of Multimedia Art at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME). Her research focuses on animated painting as a new hybrid medium within contemporary image-based art. Her artistic practice investigates the intersections of painting, animation, and environmental psychology through site-specific immersive video installations, audiovisual performances, digital prints, and zines. She has since regularly exhibited her work in both solo and group exhibitions, at venues such as the Sound Dome of the House of Music Hungary, the Studio of Young Artists’ Association (SYAA), Trafó Gallery, Silent Green cultural venue in Berlin, and Forest Gallery in South Korea. She holds a master’s degree from MOME and 2024, she successfully completed her comprehensive doctoral exam.
