Ilja Geleen

Ilja Geelen was born in the Netherlands, where she studied Dance Pedagogy and Cultural Anthropology with a focus on arts-based, multisensory research. She has lived and worked in Morocco, the Netherlands and Egypt, where she created contemporary solos and interdisciplinary works (theater, circus, film). Her work is often site-specific and in alternative setups, and aims to shorten the distance between the audience and the artist with interactive elements and programs.
