How to Enter the International Performing Arts Market: A Training Programme for Egyptian Managers and Performing Artists

Alejandro de los Santos is the head of International Relations at MASA, one of the most prominent performing arts markets in Africa and a leading platform for networking, promoting, and reflecting on the current landscape and future of performing arts in the continent. Egypt is one of the major countries currently underrepresented at this market, despite the significant opportunities it offers for international connections, partnerships, and business development.

Through this training programme, participants will gain an understanding of these cultural markets and platforms, the purposes they serve, and the tools and resources required to apply and participate in them. There will be a particular focus on how MASA works and how Egyptian artists and managers can access and benefit from it.

Workshop participants will be selected according to the following criteria:

  • Must have at least 3 years of professional experience in the performing arts and music fields
  • Must have existing professional productions or works in their portfolio
  • Must possess the desire to understand how cultural markets operate and the tools and resources required for the promotion and dissemination of artistic work
  • Must demonstrate the need to establish connections with other international cultural markets and professional networks.
