Rita Akroush is a theatre director, playwright, and arts program manager, currently based in Jordan with deep connections to the region. She holds a Master’s in Dramaturgy and Writing for Performance from Goldsmiths, University of London and a Bachelor’s in Theatre from New York University (NYU) Abu Dhabi. Her artistic training spans multiple disciplines and locations, including NYU London, Classical Studio at the esteemed Tisch School of Arts, Shanghai Theatre Academy, the Hemispheric Institute in Mexico, and Bangalore. Akroush is particularly interested in exploring new dramaturgies and experimenting with rituals, politics, and games in theatrical contexts. She is always in search of stories to tell, firmly believing that stories have the power to bring people together and liberate them.
