
Shaymaa Shoukry is a choreographer and dancer working across dance, sound, martial arts, and healing practices. Her work follows an organic path with a clear vision, blending minimal forms with emotional and political depth. Through embodied repetition, she explores transformation, presence, and the roots of movement. Shaymaa studied visual arts, theatre, and contemporary dance in Cairo. She completed the Contemporary Dance Workshops program at Studio Emad Eddin and holds a diploma in Traditional Chinese Energetics. She is the co-founder of Dayer for Artistic Productions, creating multidisciplinary works that connect with diverse audiences and places. Her work has been shown at international venues and festivals including Tanzquartier Vienna, Sophiensaele Berlin, Centre National de la Danse Pantin, Edinburgh Fringe, and D-CAF Cairo.
