Dressing Room is a play about wrinkles and politics; the wrinkles on women’s bodies that are shaped by time and crises, and brutal and violent political transformations. Dressing Room follows the search and discovery of a magic recipe that overcomes the ‘age of despair’. The actress takes her time to prepare the recipe on stage as the play addresses questions of time, ageing and memory–through the experiences of women from Arab countries who have lived on both sides of the Mediterranean.
تتمحور مسرحية “دريسينغ رووم” حول التجاعيد والسياسة. تسلط المسرحية الضوء على التجاعيد في أجساد النساء، التي تتشكل مع مرور الزمن وبسبب الأزمات، وعلى التحولات السياسية والاجتماعية القاسية والعنيفة. يرصد العرض رحلة البحث عن والعثور على وصفة سحرية لتجاوز “سن اليأس”. تتولى الممثلة إعداد الوصفة على المسرح، إذ يتناول العرض أسئلة عن الزمن والشيخوخة والذاكرة من خلال استحضار تجارب نساء من بلدان عربية عدة، عشن حياتهن على جانبي المتوسط.
