No Such Thing – حاجة مافيش زيها

No Such Thing is a framework for a conversation between two people who might not otherwise meet: an ephemeral encounter between strangers, shaped, experienced, and remembered solely by those two people.

Hosted by the D-CAF team, you’re invited to a meet-up at a cafe or restaurant for a coffee or a meal in exchange for a conversation. There will be a changing menu of topics – Starters, Mains and Afters – accompanied by a ‘Today’s Special’ drawn from current news. Like any conversation, the direction it takes is a complex act of cooperation and negotiation between the two people involved. Like everyday conversations, the experience can be funny, odd, interesting, controversial, informative, dull and/or life-changing… Similar to most of Quarantine’s work, No Such Thing explores how we negotiate differences and find points of connection.

We’ll meet, talk, eat, and say goodbye. That’s it.

“حاجة مافيش زيها” هي مساحة لحوار بين شخصين ربما لن يلتقيا عادة.. اجتماع سريع بين غريبين يشكلان ويختبران ويتذكران هذه اللحظات وحدهما. 

يسعد مهرجان دي-كاف أن يستضيفكم في هذه الفعالية لتلتقوا في مقهى أو مطعم من أجل شرب بعض القهوة أو تناول وجبة وتبادل الحديث. سيكون لدينا قائمة بالموضوعات والمقبلات والأطباق الرئيسية والحلوى، إلى جانب الطبق الخاص الذي نستلهم مكوناته من الأحداث الجارية. 

مثل أي حوار، سيكون الاتجاه فصلًا من التعاون والتفاوض بين الشخصين الحاضرين. مثل أحاديثنا اليومية المعتادة، يمكن أن تكون المحادثة مسلية وربما غريبة ومثيرة، للجدل ربما، أو معلوماتية ومملة أو قد تغير شيئــًا داخلكم.
