Words of Witness (WoW) – ورشة كلمات شاهد

A fresh, layered approach to obtaining and sharing impressions of a work in progress, of any kind.

Word of Witness (WoW) is a methodology of giving and receiving feedback to disperse anxiety and remove fearful anticipation. This workshop aims to create an environment that provides highly informative feedback, that is constructive and free of fear and judgement. It aims to inspire the participants to take conscious, considered and informed directions in their works and practices. WoW was created by upwording; a practice transforming thinking through the daily use of language. WoW is a co-creation of Rivca Rubin with Maurice Carling with refinements by Islington Mill Art Academy IMAA in 2018-2019. It merges elements from Edward DeBono’s Thinking Hats, Simone Forti’s descriptive approach to feedback for work-in-progress and upwording. 
It is open for artists, choreographers, directors, curators, designers, educators and students–anyone interested in learning about giving and receiving feedback. The participants should be working on a project which they will share with others to practise the WoW methodology during the workshop.

“كلمات شاهد” هي منهجية نتعلم من خلالها إعطاء واستقبال التغذية الراجعة ومحاولة التخلص من القلق والتوقعات المليئة بالمخاوف. 

هذه الورشة تهدف لخلق بيئة تُقدم تغذية راجعة بشكل حر وبناء، دون خوف من الأحكام. 

كذلك إلهام المشاركين لسلك طرق واعية في مجالاتهم المهنية وممارساتهم اليومية. 

وتأسست ورشة كلمات شاهد عن طريق “أب وردلنج”، وهي تجربة تعمل على تحويل التفكير من خلال الاستخدام اليومي للغة. والورشة إنتاج مشترك لــ “ريفكا روبن” و”موريس كارلنج” مع بعض التحسينات من “أكاديمية إزلنجتون ميل للفنون” في عامي ٢٠١٨-٢٠١٩. 

وتدمج الورشة بين عناصر من  تجربة إدوارد ديبونو المعروفة بـ “القبعات المفكرة” وأسلوب سيمون فورتي الوصفي حول التغذية الراجعة لأي عمل في مرحلة التطوير.

الورشة مفتوحة للفنانين ومصممي الحركة والمخرجين والمنسقين الفنيين والمصممين والمعلمين والطلبة – وأي أشخاص مهتمين بتعلم عملية إعطاء وتلقي التغذية الراجعة.
