Discover how to photograph architecture not only as a structure but as a place with a soul and emotional presence. Held at the remarkable Mosque of Ahmad Ibn Tulun in Cairo, this hands-on workshop invites you to slow down, observe, and experience a space before photographing it.
Architecture is more than stone, walls, arches, and geometry. A place can evoke serenity, spirituality, intimacy, grandeur, or mystery. The challenge is to recognise these emotions and translate them into images.
The workshop will explore two complementary perspectives: the precise eye of the architectural photographer, attentive to geometry, perspective, rhythm, and light and the personal gaze of the visitor, responding to the atmosphere and emotional experience of the place.
Using only their phone cameras, participants will learn to transform their experience of the mosque into compelling photographs. After shooting, they will explore practical editing techniques using free software to refine their images and strengthen the feeling they want them to convey.
