“Episodic Instants: Flickers of Childhood” Workshop

Participating artists will be invited to collectively recall certain childhood memories—from before the age of ten—and create an image that closely resembles the one etched in their memory. Each participant will then share their image with the rest of the group for them to decipher and discuss.

Workshop Goals:

The workshop aims to explore how representations of childhood memory can sublimate the past, revitalize collective memory, and transform it into a springboard for the life to come. Through the act of remembering, childhood experiences can become a way to reconnect with place and environment. The workshop invites participants to look backward to ask what memories can generate.
